NFL player and KINDAHOLIC, Reggie Kelly, shares his KIND wisdom

As we close out an exciting season in football, professional NFL player and KINDAHOLIC, Reggie Kelly of the Atlanta Falcons, shares his tips for keeping KIND on and off the field:

KIND: Being a professional athlete, how do you make it a priority to be KIND to your body and maintain a healthy lifestyle?

Reggie: During the NFL season, it is very important to eat right and get plenty of rest so that I can be effective on the field, and the true test comes during the off-season. I make certain to eat plenty of fresh fruits, veggies, baked foods (instead of fried) and vitamins, and to choose healthy snacks like KIND bars.

Now don’t get me wrong, I do have a “cheat day” every now and then, but I recommend always mentally refocusing yourself when you feel the urge to cave for a craving – that is the key to stay physically fit and remaining healthy

KIND: How does KIND fit into your health and wellness goals and help you stay fueled?

Reggie: When I feel the urge for something with nuts and fruit, I reach for KIND, because it’s healthy and I love that is gluten free – a diet choice that I am trying to slowly incorporating into my eating plans. My favorite KIND is Cranberry Almond + Antioxidants.

KIND: We like to call our KIND fans KINDAHOLICS – people with an uncontrollable love for KIND and spreading kindness. How do you spread kindness on and off the field?

Reggie: I feel that if you sow kindness you will reap kindness. I truly have a passion for kids, so every year I host a free football camp in my hometown of Aberdeen, Mississippi for kids who have shown excellent grades for the school year. I am big on academics and it feels great to give back to where I am originally from. Because there were always others who gave and did for me, it is a no brainer that I must pay it forward as well – to whom much is given, much is required.

KIND: And we have to ask, who did you want to win the Super Bowl, the Giants or the Patriots?

Reggie: We tend to go for the underdogs, so the Giants. Honestly though, I wanted the Patriots to do well too because my former teammates, Chad Ochocino and Kyle Love are on the team – but on any given Sunday it can work in your favor. I just know I am thirsty for a ring now – this will be my 14th season and I am hungry for one!
