As field marketers, we have the good fortune of working with some amazing people spearheading some pretty awesome initiatives.
This week, we wanted to give props to Major League Baseball all-star pitcher, Jamie Moyer, and his wife Karen, founders of the Moyer Foundation and Camp Erin. The mission of The Moyer Foundation is to offer encouragement, comfort and support to children enduring a time of profound emotional, physical or financial distress and provide opportunities for enhancing overall wellness, stability and quality of life.
One of the ways the Moyer Foundation does this is through Camp Erin. Camp Erin is the largest bereavement camp in the country and will have over 40 camps in more than 25 cities in 2011. It is designed for kids ages 6 – 17 who are grieving the loss of someone close to them and provides a weekend-long experience, filled with traditional camp games and fun activities coupled with grief counseling and emotional support.
The Moyer Foundation’s goal is to open and fund up to 60 camps, one in every Major League Baseball City – How KIND is that?! Check back throughout 2011 to see how the KIND field marketing team will be supporting the Moyer Foundation and camp Erin during the year!
